Some of this year’s music festivals have decided it’s wise to skip a year in the light of present economics. However others, such as Glastonbury and Bestival are increasing their spend and between them have already secured Neil Young, Kraftwerk, and Massive Attack, according to this promotional item, oh excuse me I mean ‘news report’, from 6 music. “In recent months, festivals from Scotland to the Isle of Wight have been cancelled due to the economic slowdown.”, it states.
Here are how some of the 2009 lineups look so far…
Glastonbury:
Neil Young, Franz Ferdinand, Blur, Bruce Springsteen.

Bestival:

ATP Weekends:
The Breeders, Devo, Spiritualized, Beirut, Sleep, M83, Killing Joke, Young Marble Giants, Anti-Pop Consortium, Throwing Muses, Bon Iver, Tricky, Foals, Teenage Fanclub, Holy Fuck.
Isle of Wight Festival:
