Desmond Dekker

We lost Desmond Dekker last week but the news has only just reached me – I don’t do media.

He died, aged 64 from a heart attack at his Surrey home. Surrey! Doesn’t sound quite right does it?

Dekker is to be cherished and Radio London’s Dotun Adebayo’s roots programme paid tribute to the great man whose 1969 hit Israelites was the first reggae song to top the UK charts. Or should that be Rock Steady? Discuss.

The Listen Again period has now passed on the beebs site so I present to you a copy of the original RealAudio feed.

Click the Downloads link up top to get the file. Same link as always

New Peel uploads back tomorrow all being well ;-p
