    Wish you were still around John. Even if in latter years i heard less of you at night and more in the day. I used to listen every saturday morning in the car to home truths. Also it was, and is, always nice to hear you narrating something on TV, even if it is weird. Like a prog on old omnibusses or something :)

    John is sadly missed. But the idea he put abroad–that you must approach everything you do with humour, self-effacing wit and integrity–lives on in those whose lives he touched. Myself being one (if that is even halfway permissable as a sentence).
